Cats are known to be territorial, be they house cats or feral. I have been trapping cats and sending them for spaying/neutering for at least 7 years. This process is commonly known as TRN (Trap Neuter Return), the most humane way of controlling the population of stray/feral cats. Up till today, I do not consider myself an expert in any way.
I use a normal trap with 2 doors. The front door is for the cat to enter the trap and the back door is for transferring the cat to the carrier. When I started 7 years ago, I trapped cats 1 at a time and sent them to the vet one by one. I was initially worried about the transferring of the cat from trap to carrier as it might escape during the process. But I soon learned from other trappers about how they usually transferred the cat to the carrier. Continue reading
